EDMONTON, AB - Score G Productions, Kino Sum, and Gruvpix Films are thrilled to announce the Edmonton premiere of their latest project, Thunder: The Life & Death of Arturo Gatti, which will take place at the Metro Cinema (8712 109 St NW, Edmonton, AB) on May 3, 2023, at 6:00PM. The three-part true crime documentary series is produced by Edmonton's own Adam Scorgie and Shane Fennessey, along with co-creator, Alex Orlando. The film is written, directed, and co-created by Guillaume Carlier, and edited and co-written by Pollyanna Hardwicke-Brown of Gruvpix Films.

Thunder takes a deep dive into the life and mysterious death of iconic Canadian boxer, Arturo Gatti. The documentary explores the bizarre circumstances surrounding Gatti's death in Brazil, which was officially ruled a suicide after he was found allegedly hung by the purse strap of his wife. However, more than ten years later, the cloud of murder still hangs over the story. With exclusive access to a private investigation team, the documentary presents new information that the public has not yet seen. The series will touch on boxing, mental health, the dark side of the established press, and delve into confounding details like an adjusted will, allegations of suicidal behaviour, and inconsistent autopsy reports that make up Gatti's story.

The screening of Thunder (episodes 1 & 2 of the series) will be the first Edmonton premiere from Score G Productions since Inmate #1: The Rise of Danny Trejo (2019) and the record-breaking 3,000 person premiere of Making Coco: The Grant Fuhr Story (2018) at Rogers Place. Other past titles from the Score G team include Bisping, Ice Guardians, The Culture High, and The Bailey Experience.

The series promises to be a must-watch for true crime fans, boxing enthusiasts, and anyone interested in uncovering the truth behind a mysterious death.

Tickets for the screening are now available for purchase at www.scoregproductions.co/tickets

Thunder will make its world premiere at the Calgary Underground Film Festival on April 29 and will air on Super Channel in Canada beginning May 4.

We are thrilled to add this riveting true-crime documentary series to our growing roster of Super Channel Originals from Adam and the team at Score G,” said Don McDonald, President and CEO, Super Channel. “The compelling story behind the life and death of this Italian Canadian boxing legend is truly unbelievable, and we are sure viewers will be hooked from the first episode.
