Ladies and gentlemen… let’s get ready to rumble!
We’re beyond thrilled to announce that Singhs in the Ring – a film that dives into the legendary Stampede Wrestling era right in the heart of Calgary – will make its world premiere at the Calgary International Film Festival. This story of wrestling, family, and Punjabi pride takes centre stage on Wednesday, September 24 at the Globe Cinema – a night we can’t wait to share with you.

🎟️ Tickets go on sale at 11am Thursday, August 28
But because you’re part of our inner circle, here’s something special: an advance ticket promo code just for our newsletter subscribers.
Use "FILM_PRE_2025_CIFF" starting 11am Wednesday, August 27, and for 24 hours you’ll have first dibs before the general public. Think of it as our tag-team handshake with you. 🤝✨
This premiere isn’t just a screening – it’s a celebration of a story rooted in Calgary, where Gama Singh made wrestling history with Stampede Wrestling and inspired generations to come. Expect energy, laughs, family, culture, and maybe even a few flying elbows (don’t worry, only onscreen).
PS: A Little Extra Reason to Cheer 🎉

As if the premiere news wasn’t enough, Singhs in the Ring just scored 9 nominations at the 2025 Rosie Awards – including Best Documentary, Best Director, Best Cinematographer, Best Editor, Best Overall Sound, Best Original Musical Score, and Best Animation/Motion Graphics. We’re so proud of our Alberta crew and grateful to Bell, our broadcast partner, for believing in this film. The Rosies take place October 25 – wish us luck!
