What a powerful week for Tootoo and the ScoreG team, truly something special.
We’re just getting back from an emotional and unforgettable screening in Iqaluit, Nunavut with Hockey Helps the Homeless. Any time you have the opportunity to visit the North, it leaves an impact, but being there with Jordin, sharing his story in his home territory, made it something we’ll never forget.
Watching Jordin open up in front of his community was incredibly powerful. It’s hard to put into words what that meant, not just for us, but for everyone in the room.
We were also surrounded by an amazing group of NHL and PWHL alumni, Joe Thornton, Brad May (Mayday), Luke Gazdic, Arron Asham, Todd Gill, Wayne Primeau, Zenon Konopka, Victoria Bach, Terry Ryan, and many more. A full circle moment having Gazdic moderate the Q&A after our history together on Ice Guardians, and even more special sitting in a packed theatre watching Tootoo land with that group and the community.
Hearing Brad May call it a highlight of the trip, and Terry Ryan say, “Every Canadian should see this film, this should be mandatory viewing in our schools,” is something we won’t take lightly.
Most importantly, Hockey Helps the Homeless raised over $250,000 for the community in Nunavut. That’s what it’s all about.

Then we landed back, and the momentum kept building with some nomination news.
Tootoo has been nominated for a Canadian Screen Award "Best Documentary Program"(TV Stream), an incredible honour and only the second CSA nomination for ScoreG. We couldn’t be more grateful. This film has always been about more than hockey. It’s about resilience, healing, breaking cycles, and bringing awareness to mental health and suicide prevention. To see it recognized at this level means everything.
On top of that, Singhs in the Ring was also nominated for "Best Original Music" (Film Stream), huge congrats to that team.

If you're a voting member with the Academy, and would like to support our team, your vote on these two nominations would mean the world!
Then came the news that Tootoo has been selected for the Dallas International Film Festival, with our Texas premiere set for April 29. Details coming soon.

And to cap it off, Adam Scorgie has been nominated for the Edmonton Film Prize for Tootoo, an honour in our hometown that means a lot.
There are always ups and downs in this business, the lows can be tough, but weeks like this remind us why we do it.
We don’t take any of this for granted, and we’re just getting started.
To everyone who has supported this journey, thank you. Truly.

Read both of Jordins books and would love to see the doc. If anything like his books agree it should be mandatory however it is hard to get access to the doc. Only place is super channel from what I gather. Would be nice to see it easier to view or at least get info on…
