Behind the Scenes
The last 12 months were by far the most active calendar year for the ScoreG team to date. All told, we have 6 projects (that we can tell you about for now) in various stages of a film’s lifecycle. In the event you’re not familiar with these stages, here is a brief summary:
Development: The concept, subject matter, and approach are defined and refined.
Pre-production: Research is conducted, access to subjects and locations is secured, and a shooting plan is established.
Production: Filming and capturing of footage takes place.
Post-production: Footage is edited, a narrative is shaped, the final soundtrack and visual elements are added, and the film goes through legal clearance.
Distribution: The film is shopped to interested buyers/distributors and the completed film is made available to the public, often through screenings at film festivals and events, as well as distribution to television networks and streaming platforms.
To give you, our audience, an idea of where we’re starting this year off, the 6 projects mentioned above are as follows:
Breaking Olympia: The Phil Heath Story - Distribution
We have an exciting announcement in the works and hope to be able to share it soon!
Thunder: The Life & Death of Arturo Gatti - Post-production
The finishing touches are being meticulously applied to our first 3-part series.
Dolph - Production/Post-production
The foundation has been laid out on the timeline, but we have a couple of key remaining interviews that will really put this film over the top.
Tootoo - Production
Two key interviews were recently recorded with hockey legends, Kelly McCrimmon and Barry Trotz, and only a couple remain to wrap things up.
Bif Naked: One of a Kind - Production
The team has had shoots with Bif in Paris and Playa del Carmen, two locations important to both Bif’s personal and professional journey.
Brace for Impact: The Dane Cook Story - Pre-production
Dane released a highly anticipated new special late in 2022 (available here) and is currently on tour, but we plan to get started on his incredible story this Spring.
Reflection
We remind ourselves often how lucky we are to get to do this for a living, and to work with the best people in the industry. We are also incredibly grateful for the support of people like you.
